ABOUT

A family-owned, local business.
Danco Contracting Ltd. provides environmentally responsible private wastewater system design and installation in Central Alberta.

For homes that can not be connected to a municipal sewage system, private wastewater systems allow safe and responsible disposal of sewage. A wastewater system makes use of natural processes & proven technology to treat wastewater from household plumbing produced by washrooms, kitchen drains and laundry.

Danco Contracting Ltd. is a certified member of the Alberta Onsite Wastewater Management Association - meaning we commit to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in the interest of the onsite industry and the welfare of all Albertans. The association engages its member installers, septage haulers, suppliers, municipalities and provincial government departments to arrive at sound practices that strengthen the industry and ensure safe and effective septage management for all of rural Alberta.

We will come to your property to assess site conditions, collect information about sewage volume and dig test pits to gather information about the soil.

Danco Contracting Ltd. will send soil samples to the lab and wait for the results.

Once the soil sample results come back, we will get to work designing a system that fits the needs of your home and site.

FAQs

How long does a wastewater system last?

A conventional septic system should last anywhere from 20-25 years, or even longer if it is properly installed and maintained.

Septic tanks are sized for a 3-year targeted pump-out interval.

How can I extend the life of my wastewater system?

Remember to treat your wastewater system right! Don't put garbage, chemicals or grease down your drains.

What causes a system to fail?

If solids or scum are allowed to accumulate too long in a septic tank or treatment system they overflow into the dispersal field which causes a system “to fail”.

In Alberta, wastewater practitioners authorized to construct septic systems are certified by the Alberta Onsite Wastewater Management Association and have a PSDS ticket issued by the Province of Alberta.
